There is a constant clash between online and conventional advertising – which is more effective? Business entrepreneurs are caught in the dilemma of which avenue they should use to advertise their product, and how to let their message be known to their consumers. Although time tested traditional marketing is still the choice of the majority, online marketing and advertising marketing blogs are gaining ground.
Many advertising marketing blogs would point out that the clear advantage of online advertising over conventional advertising is that online you do not need a lot of time to release the information to the public. Once you have created the material that you want to advertise, you can publish it right away. When you place your advertisement over the internet, there are no boundaries. As long as they have an internet connection, anyone around the world will be able to see what you have to say. Moreover, it can be seen and heard anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The advent of interactive advertising, and the use of the advertising marketing blog, make it difficult for television ads that use interruptive strategies to compete. Interruptive strategies are limited to feeding information to the customer with a series of 30 second or 1 minute commercials and that’s it. This method of advertising does not leave any room for the public to interact or provide feedback. There is a communication gap which interactive online advertising doesn’t have.
In general, although online advertising has a clear advantage on time, geography and interactivity, it can’t be denied that conventional marketing is decently effective, and still has a very strong following. So, it wouldn’t hurt business owners to consider using both online and conventional marketing channels.
